Though Daniel Ricciardo does not have a seat for the 2023 Formula 1 season, he is still one of the most popular drivers. The 33-year-old is loved by many for his cheery personality. His sense of humor and on-track antics are unmatched. The Australian recently revealed a funny moment between him and former Formula 1 driver and world champion Kimi Raikkonen.

While speaking on Perth radio station 96FM, Daniel Ricciardo confessed he was once busted by Raikkonen for using the women’s toilet before a race. This happened early in his F1 career. The Aussie star explained he did not want to “wee” in a race car. He defended himself, saying the belts were so tight and it was not fun.

Ricciardo stated, “There was like a females and a males, and I was like, ‘look when you’ve got to go, you just go’. So I walked into the females, and as I was walking out, Raikkonen goes, ‘all the women are in here’ or something like that. He was basically having a jab at me that I’m female. I was new, and the way he kind of said it, he doesn’t really talk to anyone, I just took it personally. One day I will show you [Raikkonen], I am a man,”.

The Australian added, “You do not want to pee inside a race car or have the urge. The belts are so tight, and they are pushing on you, and it is just not fun. I tried recently doing it in a bottle, nup doesn’t work. Everyone kind of queues up sometimes, and because you don’t have much time.” In Ricciardo’s defense, there was a long queue for the men’s restroom.

Daniel Ricciardo previously revealed that he tends to be friendly with people, which makes him angry when they don’t respond. He stated how Raikkonen gave him the cold shoulder once. Ricciardo admitted he took it personally. However, Kimi Raikkonen is known for his cool mannerism and brilliance on track. It earned him the nickname “The Iceman”. The Finn has 21 race wins and 103 podium finishes in his F1 career.

Daniel Ricciardo parted ways with McLaren after a troublesome season in 2022. He joined Red Bull as their third driver for the 2023 season. “The Honeybadger” has been performing his duties for his new team faithfully. Ricciardo hopes to be on the grid in 2024. However, he has revealed that the scarcity of seats in F1 does not scare him.
