Formula 1 soon heads to Nevada for the inaugural Las Vegas GP. The sport has planned a grand event for the first-ever race at the iconic Las Vegas Strip. F1 expects to earn massive sums from the GP with Liberty Media investing over $400 Million. Although this has resulted in some hefty ticket prices, fans have remained eager to attend this historic race.
The Las Vegas GP is considered to be perhaps the most expensive race for fans. The cheapest ticket options start at $500 which only grants standing access to the attendees past the city Strip. Moreover, the most affordable tickets for seating options will cost each fan around $2000-2500 for the entire weekend.
Nevertheless, fans seemed determined to be part of the inaugural Las Vegas GP. The first lot of tickets were sold out within a span of minutes. However, eventually, this demand for tickets stagnated. With less than two weeks left for the highly-anticipated event, thousands of tickets remain unsold on Ticketmaster. This has been credited to the expensive prices as well the decline in interest towards Formula 1.
Fans simply cannot afford such exorbitant prices for the race. This has led to a fall in prices online for the Las Vegas GP. As per a report, ticket brokers and resellers have been forced to reduce their prices in a bid to obtain buyers. Certainly, Formula 1 would not have anticipated such an abrupt fall in demand.

Las Vegas GP announces last-minute Grandstand cancellation
The race faced another obstacle after it was found out that the HG2 grandstand in the West Harmon Zone would not deliver the expected sightlines for the viewers. Las Vegas GP decided to take a bold call and cancel the construction of the Grandstand despite tickets being sold out for the section. This in turn caused uncertainty among fans who had purchased tickets for the Google Chrome sponsored stand.
However, the officials compensated the ticket holders as they provided an option to be upgraded to the T-Mobile Zone at Sphere. The seats at this section cost $500 more than the HG2 stand. Moreover, the T-Mobile Zone provides a better view of the circuit alongside live entertainment and luxurious amenities.
Certainly, the Las Vegas GP would be an exciting event for fans in the stands. However, a majority of F1 fans cannot afford the high prices of the event. Nevertheless, the sport expects to earn a lucrative sum from the inaugural race at the iconic Vegas Strip. It remains to be seen if Formula 1 can call the event a massive success.
