Christian Horner created controversy in the Formula 1 paddock after being accused of inappropriate behavior by a female Red Bull employee. The 50-year-old was cleared of all allegations after an independent investigation. However, the entire fiasco led to tensions rising within Red Bull Racing. Now, Drive to Survive‘s producer, James Gay-Rees has revealed that the F1 docuseries will be covering Horner’s investigation.

The Red Bull Team Principal was making headlines due to the ongoing investigation. Many have speculated that the popularity of Drive to Survive played a role in Horner’s allegations attracting such attention. Gay-Rees claimed that Christian Horner was fully aware of this fact. So much so, that the 39-year-old blamed him and the show.

Moreover, James Gay-Rees revealed that the entire saga will be covered in the show’s seventh season set to release next year. The Drive to Survive producer admitted that various stakeholders wanted Christian Horner’s investigation to be portrayed in a certain way. Gay-Rees admitted that it was important to keep everyone happy with its coverage of the case. More importantly, the 57-year-old emphasized on the need to keep Netflix happy to sleep peacefully at night.

Christian Horner went through a difficult period during the investigation. The Red Bull team boss was reportedly having troubles with wife Geri Halliwell. Moreover, Horner was rumored to be at risk of losing his role at Red Bull. However, things seemed to have calmed down since with the 50-year-old reportedly solidifying his place at Milton Keynes.

James Gay-Rees reckoned that Horner was looking alright at the moment. However, the 57-year-old believed that the case might not be over yet. Although the Drive to Survive producer claimed that he has no idea what Christian Horner had done. The 57-year-old highlighted that he would not wish anyone to suffer through what the Red Bull team boss did through this entire case.

You have to have balance. I think Horner is looking OK for the time being, but it doesn’t feel like it’s done yet. It will all depend on how it plays out. I don’t know what he got up to – and I genuinely don’t have an opinion on it, but he’s been through it and you wouldn’t wish that on anybody.
