The 2021 departure was not the first time Honda left F1, as, in the past, their sudden departure from the sport has cost them dearly in terms of losing its prized personnel and because of this reason, they have been forced into searching for competent personnel again and again.

While there is a lot of speculation in the media about Honda coming back to F1, the in charge of F1 powerplant development, Yusuaki Asaki has made no attempt to hide that the Japanese giants are preparing themselves for a major role within the F1 paddock.

Moreover, Asaki is the head of HRC and after Max Verstappen’s title triumph in Japan, he was allowed to get on the podium with the Dutchman to collect the Constructors trophy.

In a recent conversation with a media house, Asaki has recently explained that the mindset of the Honda group has changed completely and despite their last year’s exit from F1, they have been working on power sources that Red Bull has found success with.
