Racing is a dangerous sport, especially under wet weather conditions. Formula 1 races in wet weather are riddled with multiple red flags due to concerns over visibility. Such issues can lead to disastrous incidents. Now, Emerson Fittipaldi Jr collided with Maya Weug and Nikhil Bothra during a Formula Regional Europe race.
The series held its ninth round of the season at the Dutch circuit of Zandvoort. However, heavy rain took over the circuit leading to extremely challenging conditions for the drivers. A Safety Car had already been called on track in the second race of the weekend.
A clip on Twitter showed that Fittipaldi Jr lost control of the Santeloc Racing car and spun out. Things got worse with Weug following suit. Maya Weug failed to spot Emerson Fittipaldi Jr’s car and ended up making an impact with the Brazilian driver. Weug herself began to spin around on the circuit.
Moreover, Nikhil Bothra collided with the Dutch driver and brought an end to his race. Certainly a disastrous affair as the drivers were forced to retire due to an incident under the Safety Car. Thankfully, all drivers are okay and have sustained no injuries.
