Esteban Ocon, the Alpine driver, has been competing at the pinnacle of motor racing since 2016 on an off-and-on basis. With him having been with Alpine for quite a few years, he has made it known that one day he is going to fight for world championships and grand prix wins in F1.

Esteban Ocon understands the situation he currently finds himself in at a midfield team like Alpine, but he firmly believes that if he keeps doing well in the sport, ultimately his time will come when he will have a championship-worthy car operating underneath him.

You just have to re-adjust your targets, and my target is to get the best out of the car every race weekend. I believe if I work hard and do well on the track, then my time will come. One day, I will have a car that I can compete in for championships and wins. I’m looking forward to that.

Looking at the reaction of Ocon, it seems that he has unwavering faith in his abilities as an F1 racing driver. He feels that if he gets a potent car somewhere down the line, then he will be able to showcase what he is really made of and become a big nuisance at the front end of the grid.

Esteban Ocon proved second best to Pierre Gasly in 2023

While Esteban Ocon has admitted that he hopes to fight for the coveted F1 world championship at some point in his career, the 2023 campaign did not prove as fruitful as he had expected going into the season. Ocon was only able to amass a disappointing total of 58 points.

His teammate, Pierre Gasly, on the other hand, did not do extremely well either but was able to get the bragging rights on him by just a margin of four points. However, despite this, one has to keep in mind that Ocon had to endure quite a few DNFs that cost him a lot of points.

Esteban Ocon shocked the world last season when he scored a brilliant P3 finish at the historic Monaco GP and considering this, he will be amped up to have productive outings during the 2024 campaign. This year, Ocon and Gasly will enter their last campaign with Alpine as per their current deal.
