Recently, serious allegations against Christian Horner regarding inappropriate behavior with his coworker took Red Bull aback. Hence, an independent investigation is dealing with the issues ahead of the 2024 season. However, if the allegations turn out to be true, the team could face some serious issues going into the 2024 season.
According to reports, Christian Horner and Red Bull’s trustworthy aero-genius Adrian Newey have protected contracts within the team. Meaning, If one leaves the team, the other can potentially leave the team as well. However, if the 50-year-old is found to be guilty of these allegations, Newey might think of a departure from the team following these major blows to the team.
Regardless of the protected contracts, dismissal from the team on account of inappropriate behavior would take a major hit at Christian Horner‘s career in Formula 1. Hence, Adrian Newey would most likely prefer not to exit Milton Keynes following the team principal’s ill behavior within the team. If the two were to leave the team, the subsequent years would definitely prove to be extremely difficult for Red Bull in F1.
Christian Horner blatantly denied any allegations against him
The 50-year-old did the obvious thing and took to the media to share his point of view with everyone. Christian Horner blatantly denied any such rumors and claimed that he hadn’t done anything of the sort mentioned in the allegations. The timing for these allegations couldn’t be any worse as the team was positively looking ahead to the 2024 season.
If any issues arise during the investigation, there is a likelihood of sabotaging the car launch on 15th February. If the investigations prove to be true, Milton Keynes would find itself caught in the crossfire and would suffer massive problems and issues during the 2024 season due to Horner’s absence.
Regardless, the team is awaiting the results of the investigation as Red Bull speeds up the process. Additionally, the body investigating the allegations considers Horner to be innocent from the get-go to ensure that nothing gets overlooked by the body.
