F1 has leased the infamous Las Vegas Sphere, which cost around a whopping 2 Billion dollars to be built. The Sphere will display F1 content all over the race weekend of the Las Vegas GP. However, in recent updates, F1 has banned the use of three important colors due to distraction reasons.

The Las Vegas Street circuit stretches at around 6.201km (3.853 miles) and also runs across the Las Vegas sphere. This was why Liberty Media decided to lease the sphere for the race weekend and add to the beauty of the Nevadan circuit.

Since the entire sphere is highly visible on the track and from the paddock, issues regarding drivers’ distractions were raised. Joel Fisher, responsible for the deal between the sphere and F1 at the Las Vegas GP, has claimed that they have tested all the colors on the sphere at night time much before the race. Additionally, he added that there was a showrunner responsible for all the lights and displays on the sphere.

They’ve come here at night and tested different colours and different things on there. And we know what we shouldn’t show. So we have a show runner to do all that.

Fisher said, as reported by autosport.com.

Particularly, the Red, Yellow, and Blue colors flashing have been disallowed by F1 not to distract the drivers during the races. Fisher has hence complied with this request from Liberty Media and F1 and subsequently claimed that they will comply with FIA’s requirement during the race weekend.

It's all safe, Obviously, we're going to comply with the FIA's requirements, and make sure.

Liberty Media CEO talked about future use of the Sphere for F1

Liberty Media’s CEO, Greg Maffei, has also talked about the sphere and its use in the favor of F1. The CEO claimed that Liberty Media and the sphere’s owners have a long-term partnership. Additionally, He claimed that there will be more programming related to F1 in the coming future.

Maffei talked about the issues they faced this year with the Sphere’s display. The Americans also added that they were unaware of the finished product of the sphere and, hence, couldn’t make a quick decision. The CEO finally assured the fans that the Sphere will be used in a better sense in the coming years.

The Las Vegas GP looks very promising from a fan’s perspective. FIA and Liberty Media have spent a load of money just on this weekend and hence expect great outcomes. Since the GP is being held after almost 40 years, F1 expects great attendance and support from the American crowd.
