Formula 1 is a global sport. F1 drivers travel across the world to over 20 different countries. Unsurprisingly, this allows the drivers to be in touch with other sporting icons. One such sport is Basketball. Basketball is an enormously popular sport in the United States, where F1 has been expanding in recent years. Thus, fans have witnessed the formation of new bonds between the players of these two renowned sports, this time with Charles Leclerc and Pierre Gasly.

Recently, F1 drivers, Charles Leclerc and Pierre Gasly got the chance to visit the NBA House in Paris. During this visit, the two French-speaking drivers met the NBA legend, Joakim Noah. This group spent some fun time together, as they got an opportunity to play a 2v2 game along with retired NBA player, Tony Parker. Joakim posted some memorable pictures from this incident on his Instagram.

Noah included a picture of himself crossing Charles Leclerc on the court. This image depicts the two sportspersons being completely concentrated on the game. The caption said, “Had fun playing 2 on 2 with @_tonyparker09 @pierregasly and @charles_leclerc at the NBA House in Paris today.” Certainly, this visit by Leclerc and Gasly was accepted with open arms by the world of Basketball. Fans anticipating further such ‘crossovers’ between their favorite sports in the future, especially Formula 1.

Fans on Instagram were glad to see this visit. Some users spotted the massive height difference between Joakim Noah and Charles Leclerc. Noah as a basketball player is 2.11m whereas Leclerc is only 1.8m tall. Thus one user said, “Charles…so tiny but that’s my guy.” On the other hand, one user commented, “Bonjour.” A nod to the visit of Charles and Pierre with Noah. As the two drivers are both native French speakers.

Pierre Gasly himself replied with enthusiasm on this post. The Alpha Tauri driver said, “Tres tres cool!!” All in all, users appreciated this mix of two sports. One user expressed their delightedness and said, “This is cool as hell.” Whereas another fan gave their nod of approval to Charles Leclerc’s game with Joakim Noah. The fan said, “Idols.” Additionally, another fan replied in French, “La classe.”

Thus, it seems that fans across the two sports endeared on this occasion. Charles Leclerc is a Ferrari driver and hence is one of the most popular faces in F1. Pierre Gasly too is a huge name in French racing circles, with his new stint at Alpine being highly promising. Consequently, NBA must have gained the attention of millions of F1 fans who might just be interested to take a look at Basketball.
