The F1 landscape is busy preparing for the season opener that is scheduled to be held in Bahrain. However, an instruction by the track security staff had catalyzed conspiracies to spool up behind the scenes. Now, F1 and the track officials have intervened and declared such instructions null and void.
It was reported that members of F1 teams and their affiliates were informed to not wear any apparel or accessories which had the rainbow colours, supporting the LGBTQ+ movement. This does not fall in line with F1’s policies as various policies in the body ensure inclusivity in the sport. An outcry soon followed the initial reports and F1 along with the circuit owners intervened to clear out the confusion.
It was an isolated incident that violated the organizational policies of F1 and Bahrain.F1 and Bahrain spokesperson said as reported by formulapassion.it
Following the outcry against such claims, F1 made it clear that they are in support of the movement and that anybody can express themselves freely under the organizational guidelines. The sport wants to set an example of inclusivity and would want such headlines to stay away from the sport.
