F1 secure $191 million purchase near Las Vegas strip to expand and improve the circuit
The Las Vegas GP track layout by F1
Lately, F1 authorities have been introducing a series of new tracks for the calendar, which have notably included plans for the latest Grand Prix in Las Vegas, which would be on the calendar from next year. Other recent GPs include the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, the Qatar Grand Prix (held only once in 2021), and the Miami Grand Prix which was held for the first time recently. This shows that the F1 authorities are trying to bring more and more street circuits onto the race calendar, because both the Miami and Saudi Arabian tracks are on the streets. With the Las Vegas GP, there would be three circuits in the USA itself, making it a whole new thing for fans in the States.
Watch: F1 has announced a NEW track for 2023…
The Las Vegas track would be in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the Las Vegas strip; the track itself is a 6.1 kilometer or 3.8 mile long track, consisting of 14 corners and a 1.9 kilometer straight. The cars would have to go around it 50 times to make it a 306 kilometer long race. It is thought that the race would take place at night in the shining lights of Vegas, at the near end of the season. Although everyone is excited about it, Sebastian Vettel stated that the circuit is dangerous and “monstrous” in a recent interview. In recent news, F1 authorities have made a deal of 191 million pounds in Vegas to buy land for the pits and paddocks of the Grand Prix.
Liberty Media still looking at design options for the same
Formula 1 is a subsidiary of Liberty Media, and now they have purchased 39 acres of land in Las Vegas to build the paddock and pits for the Grand Prix which would be held in 2023. Although the deal has been finalized, “Liberty Media revealed that they are currently looking at several design options. A choice has not yet been determined and Liberty Media would not comment on further development plans,” quoted GPBlog.
The race would be set and ready to go on the calendar in the 2023 season, and there are speculations about it replacing the Monaco Grand Prix. However it goes, the fans are excited, as usual.
