Pierre Gasly had a terrible Saturday qualifying for the AlphaTauri team and after the start of Sunday’s race, it seems his bad luck has just been carried forward.

During the initial phase of the wet Japanese Grand Prix, Carlos Sainz crashed into the barriers and that triggered an advertisement holding to fly onto the circuit and catch none other than Pierre Gasly.

The incident has received a barrage of reactions from the F1 Twitter community. While some have seen the funny side of it, others have blasted race control for letting the cars onto the track under treacherous conditions.

F1 fans are well known for their humor and they have taken no time in getting straight to it and coming up with creative responses to the 26-year-old’s incident.

As things stand, it is looking very unlikely that a full-distance race is going to take place at the circuit, and just to pass time, fans are going onto the web to get their dose of entertainment.

Pierre Gasly has signed a new contract with the Alpine F1 team for 2023 and after years of being under the umbrella of the Red Bull pool of drivers, he has finally taken the leap of faith and is going to drive for a different manufacturer next year.

Moreover, the Enstone-based Alpine team is a French brand and has already got one French driver in Esteban Ocon on board, with Gasly also joining the team next year, the team is going to have an all french lineup in 2023.

Esteban and Pierre are both prolific young drivers and the French team has somewhat secured its future by getting the AlphaTuri man on board.

However, it is believed that the duo does not share a very healthy bond because of some past happenings, and in order to keep the house in peace, Alpine will have to work on building their relationship because ultimately they are the ones on whose shoulders the future of the team lies.
