Formula 1 is not just a racing league–it is an amalgamation of mind-blowing engineering, exciting strategies, and well-planned business. And heading it all, at the moment, is F1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali. Recently, he was spotted at the prestigious Harvard Business School as a guest lecturer, where he interacted with 160 students who are enrolled with the General Management Program.
In 2021, Domenicali took up the part of serving as the President of Formula 1 as a representative of Liberty Media, who currently own the F1 franchise. The 57-year-old Italian has played a key role in bringing about considerable changes to the sport to reduce carbon emissions, and he has also introduced several other new regulations, which are going to take effect from 2026.
Stefano Domenicali has studied Business Administration at the University of Bologna, Italy. He entered Formula 1 after joining Ferrari, working in the finance department. He became the Team Principal of Scuderia Ferrari in 2008, and his tenure lasted till 2014, during which period, Ferrari won the 2008 Constructor’s Championship. With such an illustrious career to take credit for, Stefano Domenicali was selected for delivering a lecture to the Business students at Harvard, and fans reacted to the news when it broke on social media.

F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali has to bear some massive responsibilities on his shoulders, and not everybody has been happy with how he has fulfilled his role in the racing league. Domenicali’s vision has always been to present F1 at the global level, holding more races in the US to attract the American crowd, and also in the Middle-East. Fans of Formula One, who prefer the conventional European Circuits such as the Circuit Paul Ricard, which disappeared from the 2023 calendar to make room for newer venues, believe Domenicali’s decision to commercialize F1 has done a lot of harm to the sport.
