Danica Patrick, former NASCAR and IndyCar racing driver, joined Sky Sports F1 as an expert pundit for the Miami Grand Prix. She accompanied former Formula 1 champions Jenson Button and Damon Hill. Patrick initially joined Sky Sports for the 2021 US Grand Prix and will undoubtedly grab the chance to analyze the three US races this season.
Danica Patrick is a guest broadcaster of NASCAR coverage on Fox, and she has done F1 coverage for Sky Sports in previous years. The 41-year-old was excited to cover the Miami Grand Prix. Ahead of the race, she posted several images of herself in the paddock.

Over the Miami Grand Prix weekend, Patrick reportedly stated that Aston Martin is challenging Red Bull. However, the Milton Keynes outfit is not challenged by the others as they are in a league of their own. The former NASCAR driver’s statement angered ardent Formula 1 fans. It is safe to say that they were not happy with her commentary.

Some of them tagged Formula 1 and requested the sport to stop giving Danica Patrick a microphone. “Danica Patrick is absolutely horrible on the F1 pre-race coverage. Just god awful,” and “ F1 stop giving Danica Patrick a microphone please” were a few reactions. They were other fans who defended the former NASCAR driver. One user stated, “Danica Patrick gets a lot of hate on here but she’s not a bad interviewer. I don’t get it.”
A few Motorsports fans labeled her commentary as “terrible.” One user reflected on Patrick’s previous NASCAR commentary. The Tweet read, “Danica is terrible at commentary. She came to commentate NASCAR and couldn’t stop making INDYCAR references.” Overall, the F1 fans claim she talks “utter crap.” However, it is not uncommon for a reporter to receive backlash. Danica Patrick is considered the most successful woman in American open-wheel racing. She is the only woman to win an IndyCar Series race. Patrick won the Indy Japan 300 in 2008. The 41-year-old is one of the most accomplished female racers of all time and using the opportunity to mock her punditry and racing wasn’t the right move from some fans.
