Formula 1 teams have used some special one-off designs in recent times. The 2023 season has already witnessed a couple of unique designs for a few races, such as McLaren’s chrome livery for the British GP. Now, fans will be treated to yet another one-off design as Alfa Romeo took covers off the C43 in a new paint scheme for the Belgian GP.
The Alfa Romeo Twitter account posted pictures of the one-off livery for the last race before the summer break. The design is part of its sponsorship deal with KICK, a live video streaming service. The caption stated, “The #F1 and @KickStreaming communities, united. Take a look at our special #BelgianGP livery from all angles! #kickstreaminglivery.”
Alfa Romeo revealed its C43 in an eye-catching paint scheme. The fan-favorite maroon and black design stays with the addition of bright green inserts. The front wing comprises of green flame-like designs that add a bit of drama to the simple design. The green KICK branding further serves as an attention grabber that makes the livery more appealing, albeit polarizing.

Fans divided on Alfa Romeo’s KICK livery
Fans on Twitter expressed their views on this one-off design. However, the opinion was split among the fans. One user believed that the neon green simply didn’t work with the maroon and black of the Swiss-based team. The user said, “The green just looks…off. I’m sorry but it doesn’t really work.” Another user asked, “What on earth is this?” While another fan loved the new green inserts as they resembled flow-viz paint. The fan wrote, “Amazing flow-vis painting!”
On the other hand, one fan asked the team whether Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu could fight for points with this new livery. The fan commented, “Ok maybe it looks good but when will we see this car in the fight for points?” Another user claimed that this was the worst one-off design in recent history. The user replied, “Might be the worst-looking special livery I’ve ever seen.”
Thus, Alfa Romeo has grabbed the attention of fans for its eye-catching special livery for the Belgian GP. The Swiss-based team will be running a one-off design that includes the green color of live-streaming giant KICK. Certainly, this would allow the team to be on the headlines this weekend before the month-long F1 summer break begins.
