Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have further diversified their sporting investments by acquiring a stake in the Enstone-based Alpine F1 team. The duo, who co-own Wrexham Football Club, have joined forces with Maximum Effort, Reynolds’ production company, Otro Capital, and RedBird Capital Partners to invest $217 million, granting them a whopping 24% stake in the team. Notably, actor Michael B. Jordan is also among the investors involved in this venture.

Alpine has endured an average season and is currently positioned fifth in the constructors’ championship. Currently, Ocon holds the ninth position in the drivers’ championship standings.

Ryan Reynolds’ most recent sporting investment before Alpine, Wrexham AFC, has already paid dividends after their takeover in 2021.  The Welsh club were promoted back to the Football League after a 15-year absence when they won the National League title. Only time will tell whether this fortune will follow Reynolds to the Alpine garage in their charge to fight at the very top.
