“Ferrari just lost a customer,” Fans react as Sauber finally announce their plans to compete as the Audi Factory team using an Audi power unit from 2026
Audi announces it's entry in F1
Formula 1 is surely not known for having the best kept secrets and one such instance can be seen where Audi has finally announced that they will be joining forces with Sauber to compete as a Factory team in 2026. Just a while ago, it was announced that Alfa Romeo who is the team’s title partner will be parting ways with the squad after this year.
This in turn guaranteed the fact that an announcement from both the parties was imminent. Audi had announced all the way back in August that they will be joining Formula 1. However it was uncertain if they would enter as a team or on a partnership basis with another team. There were plentiful of rumours stating a collaboration between the Swiss team and the German squad which have now turned out to be true.
This means that the the current Formula 1 team will become The German Automobile giant’s Factory team in 2026 where they will be making their own engines. This would also mean that the Swiss Formula 1 team will not be dealing with Ferrari for engines from 2026 onwards. The German Manufacturer already has 120 people working on the engine back in Neuburg at their base. Here is how the fans on Twitter reacted to the news. P.s The sarcasm was off the charts.

The two giants joining forces to compete in 2026 put them in a grey area. With the German manufacturer developing their engine for 2026, a lot of problems will be there to tackle. Thankfully, the German car manufacturer will have a lot of support from the current Alfa Romeo Formula 1 team as they embark on a new venture and try to compete with the top runners in the sport.
