Red Bull Racing was involved in multiple controversies during the past month. Firstly, the entire Christian Horner saga dragged on for too long, but the team principal was proven guilty later. Additionally, Max Verstappen and Adrian Newey were rumored to be considering leaving Milton Keynes. Hence amidst these developments, Ferrari now eyes at potentially acquiring the aero-genius at Maranello.
Adrian Newey had previously showered his faith with Red Bull and how he would stay in the team following a stupendous performance for the 2023 season. However, following Horner’s investigation saga, Newey was thought to be leaving the constructor amidst the issues. Christian Horner even discussed the situation that the aero-genius might be in following his departure from the team. Additionally, the relationship between the two was hampered due to the allegations.
However, recent reports suggest that Ferrari is keen on acquiring the aero-genius in their squad. Maranello is reportedly providing the 65-year-old with a ‘blank check’ just for the sake of him joining the team. Additionally, the Italian Constructor is ready to accomodate Newey and fulfill his wishes within the team. Part of this offer could be attributed to John Elkann and his ‘international’ management skills. Hence, with Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari as well by 2025, the Newey-Hamilton might be as deadly as Max Verstappen and the aero-genius.
Adrian Newey might shift to non-F1 role at Red Bull
Amidst the rising tensions within Red Bull, the aero-genius might be demoted to a non-F1 role in the constructor. Christian Horner allegedly wants relegate Newey to the RB17 hypercar project full time. However, Adrian Newey’s change of position at Red Bull could seriously damage the team’s performance in Formula 1. Hence, the Briton would likely not be demoted within the constructor to ensure great performance of the team in the pinnacle of motorsport.
Aditionally, Helmut Marko also shared his opinions over the 65-year-old leaving the team any time soon. Marko asserted that he hoped that the aero-genius wouldn’t leave the team following the extremely impressive performance of the team. Apart from this, Newey’s commitment to improving the team’s performance and results more or less guaranteed the genius’ stay within the team.
Newey in Ferrari? I hope not as continuing to be constantly committed to improving and continuing our path of success should guarantee a sufficiently reassuring environment.Marko said, as reported by motorsport-total.com.
Hence, Adrian Newey will likely stay within Red Bull following the great performances from the team. Additionally, the aero-genius struck once again with the dominant RB20. Max Verstappen was also all praises of the challenger built by Newey for the team’s 2024 campaign.
