The porpoising technical regulation will be in effect starting with the Belgian Grand Prix, the FIA has announced. The federation also declares that starting in 2023, a number of changes would be implemented to minimize porpoising.
It was coming for a while now, but as of the Spa-Francorchamps race, the FIA is going ahead with the introduction of porpoising rules. What is perhaps even more interesting is the fact that a number of changes are being made for the 2023 season.

The floor edges will be elevated by 25 millimetres starting with the upcoming season. Additionally, the diffuser beneath the floor will be raised, and the FIA will conduct tighter floor deflection tests. Last but not least, the FIA will soon be using a more precise sensor to detect aerodynamic swings.
The roll hoops of the F1 vehicles will be more closely scrutinised as a result of the horrific incident that Alfa Romeo driver Guanyu Zhou experienced at Silverstone. Zhou’s car toppled over, and his roll hoop failed as he went backwards on the pavement.
