FIA gives the green light to Andretti Autosport to join Formula 1 as the NEW 11th team

Multiple teams have craved to join the enticing Formula 1 circus. The FIA has gotten multiple applications for being the 11th team on the grid. The ‘Andretti Autosport team is currently the clear front-runner
The FIA recently revealed in a statement that Andretti was the only applicant who passed through to the third and final selection stage. FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem talked about the selection process and the analytics of the task at hand. “Our objective was to only approve entries which satisfied the set criteria and illustrated that they would add value to the sport.” Said [as reported by motorsport.com] Sulayem.
Michael Andretti’s team would be the second American team in the paddock alongside Haas. This might be a valuable prospect for the sport with a growing interest in F1 across the United States. The F1 executives are still to clear Andretti in its final selection process. It will be interesting to see how this changes the look of our paddock.

Alfa Romeo and Sauber’s unexplored future in Formula 1
As Sauber and Alfa Romeo go two separate ways at the end of 2023, they both plot schemes to stay amongst the F1 paddock long into the future. With Audi slated to line up with Sauber in 2026, here’s what we think will happen in the following two years.
Alfa are reported to be seeking a partnership with Haas for the 2024 season. No new revelations have been made on this front yet. Meanwhile, Sauber plans to run as an independent team for the next two seasons with Audi coming to their aid before taking over the team name.
It will be interesting to see how the paddock will look for the next 3 years and how Sauber and Alfa, as two separate entities, compete against each other.
