The Christian Horner investigation saga has led to major problems for Red Bull in Formula 1. According to previous reports, Jos Verstappen wanted Horner to resign due to ‘tearing up’ the team. Additionally, Ford is supposed to join Milton Keynes as a power-unit supplier from 2026. However, following these issues within the team, the engine manufacturing giant might reconsider their entry.
The automobile manufacturer previously mentioned that they expected ‘high standards of behavior’ regarding the entire Christian Horner investigation saga. Apart from this, Ford authorities were frustrated with the pace of the entire independent investigation. Hence, the team, especially Helmut Marko feared a potential exit from the manufacturer if Horner was found guilty of the allegations.

Hence, as alleged massive leaks against the team boss were revealed, Ford Authorities once again shared their piece of mind over this. According to reports, Ford is currently checking the entire deal with Red Bull and trying to find an ‘exit’ from the deal. Apart from this, the giant’s bosses are not interested in the entire ordeal and would like to stay away from the matter as much as possible. Hence, Ford exiting the team could cause major problems for the constructor.
Christian Horner investigation saga force Max Verstappen to leave Red Bull
Max Verstappen has been driving with Red Bull for quite a while now. The Dutchman has a contract with the team till the end of the 2028 season. However, following such controversies of great intensity, the reigning world champion might consider other options apart from Red Bull. The driver’s image might also be hurt following Horner’s ongoing case.

Jos Verstappen had talked about the need for Red Bull to sack Horner because of the mess he created. However, the investigation declared the Briton innocent and Red Bull GmbH did not wish to re-open the case for now. The team principal will lead the team heading into the 2024 season and aim for the world championship, regardless of the ongoing issues.
Additionally, Verstappen Sr. hinted that the 26-year-old could join Mercedes if Horner refused to resign from the team. Hence, major problems for the constructor might be happening down the season. Regardless, the team focuses on the season after scoring great results at the season opener in Bahrain.
