Sergio Perez has been under scrutiny following his shunt to the back of Kevin Magnussen’s Haas at the Japanese GP. The Red Bull driver had a really dismal outing at Suzuka. Perez didn’t look comfortable at all in his Red Bull. The slight damage that he incurred at the start of the Grand Prix made matters worse for the Mexican driver.

Jolyon Palmer, while analyzing the Japanese GP on Formula 1’s post-show presentations, commented on Perez’s performance at Suzuka. Palmer was commenting upon Perez’s collision with Magnussen’s Haas. Perez lunged desperately on Magnussen’s inside line in hopes of overtaking the Haas in Turn 11.

Palmer said, “This one was a pretty poor move. I just don’t think he’s in the right headspace when it comes to wheel to wheel racing at the moment. Maybe he was a bit frustrated, but this is never an acceptable action, to go for this from so far behind.”

Palmer also addressed another similar incident from the Singapore GP where Sergio Perez shunted Alex Albon out of the race. Perez seems to be under a lot of pressure at Red Bull and it’s now evidently spilling on track.
