F1 to rename the Las Vegas GP ‘paddock’ building due to a past tragedy

Formula 1 is making a significant change ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix by deciding to rename the traditional ‘paddock’ building due to its connection with a tragic event. The term ‘paddock’ typically refers to the pit or garage building in F1. However, the name ‘Stephen Paddock,’ being linked to the 2017 91 Harvest Festival shootings in Las Vegas, where 60 lives were lost, has prompted officials to reconsider its approach to the weekend.

Las Vegas Grand Prix is sensitive and has been recently informed about the correlation of the use of the word Paddock on their building site.

The new designation for the paddock, recently disclosed, will be the ‘Pit Building’ during the Grand Prix weekend.
