Johnny Herbert was teammates with the seven-time World Champion at Benetton, where Michael Schumacher clinched his first title – in 1994. Ralf Schumacher, Michael’s sibling, is also a former Grand Prix winner. Herbert claims Ralf has changed a lot following Michael’s disheartening ski accident.
“Ralf has had to do a lot of things for and with the family given what happened to Michael.” Johnny referred to Michael’s state of coma in which the driver has been in since 2013. “He has matured. Ralf is very different now to the person he was as a driver. He is a good human being now. He has changed a lot having had to cope with the ongoing situation with his brother”, added Herbert.
Ralf Schumacher and Michael Schumacher remain to be the only siblings to each win a Formula 1 Grand Prix. With Michael’s family keeping news about his condition extremely private, we, along with well-wishers from across the world, send strength and support to the entire Schumacher family.

Roger Benoit gives a mournful update on Michael Schumacher’s condition
“There is only one answer to this question and that is what his son Mick gave in one of his rare interviews in 2022: ‘I would give anything to talk to dad. ’This sentence said everything about how his father has been doing for over 3,500 days now. A case without hope.” said Roger Benoit. Michael and Benoit were friends.
Benoit recently sat down for an interview with Blik and reminisced about his time with the Seven-time World Champion. The 74-year old recounts multiple moments including Schumacher gifting him various warm and bizzare things, playing backgammon together, and sheds light upon Michael’s current condition.
As things seem to not get better for the legendary German, remembering Schumi and all the good that he did seems to be a fitting tribute for one of the very greatest drivers of all time.
