Sebastian Vettel, the former four-time F1 World Champion, bid adieu to the pinnacle of motor racing at the end of the 2022 F1 season. However, everyone is well aware of his caliber as a racing driver, and Thomas Biermaier, the CEO of the ABT Cupra Formula E team wants him to drive for them in the Formula E Championship.
While Sebastian Vettel is no longer involved in competitive racing, he has every now and then made appearances at race tracks this year, and has even jumped into some old F1 cars. His love for racing is still very much alive in his heart and the ABT Cupra team owner desperately wants to convince him to race for them in the Formula E Championship.
The German team recently ousted Robin Frijns from the team and is looking for someone to fill the vacant seat. While talking about the same, Biermaier told Formulapassion, “His plans don’t correspond to ours, but Robin is a friend and will remain so.” Moreover, while shedding light on who could possibly replace Frijns on the team, he added, “Maybe we’ll go and see him in Switzerland. There are drivers who are very committed to the environment and are dedicated to sustainability”.
It is a common belief that in his comments, the ABT Cupra CEO is talking about Sebastian Vettel who lives in the canton of Thurgau, in northeastern Switzerland. Nico Muller, who drives for the German team confirmed the rumors by saying, “I don’t know if he is already bored by the stop, but I know a former German Formula 1 champion who moved to Switzerland for a while. I would recommend him to try, it’s fun! It would be nice not only for me, but for the whole movement”.

Sebastian Vettel is currently dwelling on his racing options
While the ABT Cupra team has made it evidently clear that they want Sebastian Vettel to drive for them, nothing can be said for certain regarding what the German racing star actually wants. He has been away from the racing grid for some time now and it is believed that he is currently weighing his options.
Being a former 4-time F1 World Champion, Vettel is not short of options as several teams from various racing categories have already tried to get him on board. However, he is still undecided and is most probably going to take some more time in putting pen to paper regarding a new racing deal.
Sebastian Vettel is hugely concerned regarding sustainability and considering that Formula E is eco-friendly, there could arise a possibility of seeing him racing in the competition. Vettel’s fans are desperate to see him dawn a racing suit again and if he decides to join the ABT Cupra team, his die-hard fans would definitely fill the circuits where he would be seen racing.
