Scuderia Ferrari has failed to win an F1 world championship since 2008. The Italian team has undergone major changes in recent years with current Team Principal Fred Vassuer only taking the reigns earlier this year. However, despite the continued shake-ups, Maranello has failed to deliver the desired results. Now, Vassuer has revealed that Ferrari does not have the perfect structure to compete in Formula 1.
The Frenchman believed there was a long way to go before Maranello could truly be considered to have the desired F1 team layout. Vasseur insisted that as the Team Principal, he could never be satisfied with the existing structure of the Scuderia. He is quoted by Motorsport.com, “We are miles away because when you are doing my job you don’t have to imagine that there is a perfect structure.”
The Ferrari team boss was adamant that teams need to constantly evolve their structure in F1 to keep up with the dynamic environment. So much so that the 55-year-claimed that a team would simply perish if it failed to adapt its structure with time. Fred Vasseuer explained, “You always need to improve, and always need to change things. If you stay with the same structure two years in a row then you are dead, because all the others will improve.”

Fred Vasseur refuses to reveal 2024 Ferrari car progress
Vasseur mentioned that the Scuderia would continue to evolve in a never-ending process of altering its structure as Maranello works extensively towards achieving glory in F1 once again. The 55-year-old’s comments come when Alpine has undergone a major overhaul with Team Principal Otmar Szafnauer and Sporting Director Alan Permane leaving the team.
Fred Vasseur revealed that the Scuderia had got an idea of its progress on the 2024 car. Ferrari has a picture of its strengths and weaknesses in next year’s machinery. Unfortunately, Vasseur clarified that he would not be revealing any information regarding the same. He stated, “But this I will keep it for me. Sorry! But for sure, race after race we are starting to have a much better picture of the situation.”
Thus, Fred Vasseur insisted that Ferrari did not have the perfect structure of an F1 team. The Frenchman explained that teams must continuously adapt to new conditions and tweak their structure to stay competitive. As such, Vasseur will spearhead changes at Maranello in the future as he tries to ensure that the Scuderia remains a force to be reckoned with in Formula 1.
