Scuderia Ferrari was founded by Italian legend Enzo Ferrari. The late racing driver laid down the foundation of what became the most successful team and carmaker in the racing world. However, the Prancing Horse is going through a trophy drought in F1. Now, Ferrari boss Fred Vasseur has revealed how the automotive icon would’ve reacted to his team’s current state.

Vasseur recently spoke on the Beyond The Grid Podcast. The Frenchman wondered how Enzo Ferrari would feel with the performance of the Italian team in F1. The 55-year-old believed the Ferrari founder would not be satisfied with the team’s present status. He said, as reported by formula1.com, “If Enzo were alive, I would ask him if he is proud of what Ferrari is today. I don’t know what he would say, but I am sure that as a racer that he was, he would like to have better results and focus more on performance.”

Although, Fred Vasseur was convinced that Ferrari’s incredible brand image would’ve impressed its late founder. The Scuderia has the status of an icon in and outside Formula 1. Millions of people worldwide dream of one day driving a car with the Prancing Horse badge. The Frenchman continued, “As a man company, I think he would be very happy with the current image of Ferrari around the world.”

Certainly, Scuderia Ferrari has the biggest fanbase in the sport in the form of the Tifosi. The Italian GP at Monza is one of the best spectacles on the F1 calendar, with hundreds of thousands of Tifosi cheering for Enzo Ferrari’s team. However, this massive fanbase is not just limited to Italy. As Fred Vasseur explained, Ferrari fans are present at every circuit on the calendar.

The Frenchman mentioned that even in countries home to Ferrari’s rivals, such as in France and the UK, there are still thousands of attendees in red. Moreover, Vasseur claimed that the Scuderia enjoys a massive following globally despite the lack of a title win since 2008. He stated, “All over the world, the ‘Half of the people are Ferrari fans’, it’s magical and I would be delighted to win for them to thank them for all the support during these years without titles.”

Thus, Fred Vasseur reaffirmed that Enzo Ferrari would not be happy to see his team’s present status in F1. The Scuderia has failed to win a single title in the sport since 2008. However, this has not stopped Maranello from enjoying a massive fanbase that seems to grow despite the Italian team’s lack of a championship victory.
