In a fun and mischievous display of team loyalty, Red Bull’s Christian Horner and Ferrari’s Fred Vasseur engaged in a playful exchange during the Belgian Grand Prix. It has been a parade of exchanging stickers by the Ferrari and Red Bull team principals; after covering a Ferrari sticker before the qualifying, the Briton repeated his sticker prank.
On Friday, during the qualifying session for the Belgian Grand Prix, Christian Horner displayed his loyalty to his team by playfully putting tape over a fan’s hat, which had a Ferrari badge on it, in the Red Bull garage. The humor with the stickers continued on Sunday, too, ahead of the main event.
The Red Bull team principal wanted to repeat the same mischievous antic to the grid walk at the Belgian Grand Prix. Armed with a Red Bull sticker, Horner aimed Ferrari’s team principal, Fred Vasseur, affixing the sticker to his shoulder. Vasseur, taking it in stride, casually removed the sticker and retaliated with a witty move of his own.
Turning to Helmut Marko, who stood beside him, Vasseur slyly planted the Red Bull sticker on Marko’s forehead, much to the amusement of onlookers. The light-hearted exchange showcased the playful spirit between the rival teams, adding a touch of fun to the high-stakes atmosphere of Formula One.

Ferrari swiftly responded to Horner’s logo prank on Friday by playfully retaliating. They strategically placed their logo somewhere within Red Bull’s domain, challenging the rival team to find it. Scuderia Ferrari took to Twitter, sharing a video of their clever move, teasingly declaring that they wouldn’t reveal its location.
Ferrari underwent a massive reshuffling ahead of the 2023 season after a disappointing end to the 2022 season. The Italian squad sacked their former team principal Mattia Binotto and wanted to recruit Red Bull’s Horner, but the Briton denied any invitation from Maranello. Ferrari then brought in Vasseur to fill in the seat.
Red Bull has won every race this year and recently broke McLaren’s age-old record for most consecutive wins. Meanwhile, Ferrari has slipped back after being the title contender last season. The Italian squad has scored only two podiums, both of them by the hands of Charles Leclerc and both during sprint weekends.
Beyond the racing spectacle, this witty prank reminded fans that F1 is not just about speed and strategy but also about the personalities and camaraderie between competitors. It was a moment of levity amidst the fierce competition. The curtain falls on F1 for summer break following the Belgian GP.
