The arrival of Fred Vasseur to Ferrari as the team principal helped the Scuderia score some good results in 2023. Ferrari was the only team to win a race apart from Red Bull in 2023. Hence, the Frenchman has been applauded by multiple people on the grid for bringing good results to the Maranello in his first season.

The former Minardi boss Giancarlo Minardi is amongst many who praised Fred Vasseur over his first leadership season at Ferrari. Minardi asserted that good stuff would be coming to the team in the following seasons. Additionally, the Italian claimed that Vasseur informed him about the major investments for adding more members to the Maranello crew for the coming seasons.

He found everything done. The good stuff comes now, Everyone tells me, and Fred himself has said, that major investments have been made in terms of men and manpower, so we’ll see what and how many grafts will come in.
Giancarlo Minardi told Gazzetto dello Sport.

In addition to this, Minardi insisted that Vasseur needed to look at the other competition and bring about changes to the car and the team, to enable winning opportunities for the Maranello. The 76-year-old insisted that the long history of Ferrari and the way things were not changed in the team had somewhat immobilized the French principal.

Inevitable operations, given that we come from a certain immobility, And that the machine has already been made by the same people for years. It was time to perceive, understand and learn what others are doing. That’s the job of the team principal.

Giancarlo Minardi expects an upward trend from Ferrari in 2024

After a heavily mediocre season from Ferrari, Minardi explained that the following season should be better for the Maranello due to the stability of the regulations. The Italian team also learned a great deal from this season and will address the issues raised to ensure a smooth sailing 2024.

Minardi expressed that finishing on an upward trend would be a positive sign in 2024 for Ferrari. The Italian also recalled the rollercoaster of a season for the team in 2023 and how it was an up-and-down performance throughout the season. Hence, a P3 finish for Ferrari was not the worst in light of the stability issues mid-season.

Many have praised and applauded Fred Vasseur’s maiden year at Ferrari. The Frenchman needs to ensure fixing the stability issues for the following year and minimizing errors in multiple sectors to achieve a better finish in the constructors’ standings.
