The 2022 United States Grand Prix has been an absolute hit among fans for a variety of reasons and while the on-track action during the race was epic, the crowd engagement during the three-day event was unprecedented.
The F1 fans in America came out in massive numbers during the event and their ardent efforts have made the recently concluded race, the most attended event in the sport’s history.
A record-breaking 4,40,000 people attended the United States Grand Prix, and ever since then, the F1 fans have been going mad on Twitter.
Many have shared their views on the astonishing feat and have applauded Liberty Media for doing an amazing job since taking over the sport.
The sport has been on an upward trajectory since the debut of the Drive to Survive series on Netflix and it was given a major boost by how the 2021 title fight between Lewi Hamilton and Max Verstappen went down to the last race of the season.
During the current campaign, F1 has seen almost full crowds wherever the races have taken place so far and during the upcoming 3 races, the story is expected to be the same.
Liberty Media has taken the hype of F1 to a whole other level
Liberty Media took charge of the sport in 2016 and relaxed a plethora of rules that were acting as a hindrance in making the sport a global phenomenon.
Moreover, the hierarchy also changed the rules around the development of cars in order to deliver competitive racing among the participating teams.
While a lot of changes were made to get more people to engage with the sport, the most significant impact came with the help of the Netflix Drive to Survive series.
It got people all over the World talking about the sport, and more importantly, the younger generations have found the sport really intriguing.
Moreover, as an example of how much of an impact the sport has made in America in recent years, one can look at the fact that in 2017, the average race viewership in the US was around 500,000, whereas during the 2022 event it was 1 million.
After seeing all this data, one thing that can be said for certain is the fact that F1 is on an upward trajectory, and the way the sport is growing year after year, it is only going to go in the north direction with more and more fans of all ages taking an interest in the pinnacle of motor racing.
