Haas debunks rumors of Mick Schumacher being part of Alpine driving test

Mick Schumacher thinks that as he was quicker than his teammate, Kevin Magnussen, he should have been let by.

With few races left in the 2022 F1 season, most of the teams have confirmed their drivers for the next season, but some are yet to do so. Ever since Fernando Alonso announced that he will be moving to Aston Martin next season, their second seat has been empty. They tried offering it to Oscar Piastri who in turn rejected it as he had a previous obligation to McLaren.

Fans were amused by the Piastri fiasco and are eager to see who will Alpine bring in to replace him. There have been several names that have been rumoured to have put their hat in the ring for the seat but nothing has been confirmed as of yet. One of the names rumoured to replace Alonso in Alpine is Mick Schumacher whose seat with Haas has not been renewed for next year.

There have been rumours that Schumacher is among a list of people who have been part of a private driving test with Alpine. The Haas team however went on record to deny any and all rumours regarding this. Currently, Pierre Gasly seems to be the ideal contender for the Alpine seat, but AlphaTauri will only release him if the FIA grant a super license to Colton Herta.
