Peter Windsor, Formula 1 journalist, cleared out a few things building up inside the Mercedes garage, majorly the team no more listening to Lewis Hamilton.
The inaugural Miami Grand Prix had a Mercedes P5-P6 just behind the Red Bull and Ferrari.
George Russell, the new driver for the Brit team, was on P5 and the 7-time World Champion, Lewis Hamilton on P6. And as being seen till now in the Season, the new teammate has wholly overshadowed the Champion.
Russell is the only driver on the grid to finish in the top 5 every race this season. Most people point out that, the luck factor George is carrying had landed him repeatedly into the position he shouldn’t have been.
But what many people aren’t focusing on is the risk the Brit is taking every race and using it to the fullest has handed him points he deserves.
Lewis has only managed to finish over his teammate only once this season, that too in the first race. Other than that he has only been outscored by his teammate.
He is currently P6 in the Championship table 2 position down to his teammate with a points difference of 23.
These thoughts resemble the journalist. Windsor has mentioned the team preferences have changed and are now with George, and this is concerning the world champion who isn’t performing at his best “That stings with Hamilton,” said Peter in an interview on Youtube.
What is the optimal solution to solve the problem between the duo?

Peter Windsor, comes out with a solution to clear the future quarrel between the duo. He talks about the past when Michael Schumacher had Rubens Barrichello as his teammate when he won his 5 world champions since 2000.
Max Verstappen had Sergio Perez when he won the Championship last year. Even Hamilton had Valtteri Bottas helping him and the team win the championship last eight years.

“In Michael Schumacher’s time you also saw that he always had a second driver who helped him win the title. At Red Bull, you see that now with Sergio Perez alongside Max Verstappen. At Mercedes, Bottas filled that role for Hamilton.”
One way to solve the future trouble between the current teammate is to demote Russell as a second driver to help them win. Windsor also talks about bringing the changes if he were the team boss
“If I were team boss at Mercedes, I would have had Russell signed to be second driver. I would have shoved a contract under his nose that says he cannot finish ahead of Hamilton.”
