Oscar Piastri, after yesterday’s Contract Recognition Board’s decision, has finally got clarity over his F1 future and Red Bull’s Helmut Marko has warned the young Australian by indicating that a lot of eyes are going to be on him next year.
Oscar Piastri is rated highly up and down the F1 paddock and has caused a massive stir even before making his official F1 debut. By now, the whole of the F1 community is well aware of the antics of the 21-year-old and how the situation escalated between him and Alpine in recent weeks.
However, as the dust has finally settled regarding the whole Oscar Piastri saga, it has been made known that Piastri is going to replace Daniel Ricciardo on the Woking-based McLaren team for 2023.
Ever since yesterday’s decision by the CRB and McLaren’s announcement, many pundits of the sport have given their verdict on the current Alpine reserve driver, and Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko has also been one of them.

While discussing Piastri, Marko has said, “That was a lot of excitement about a driver who hasn’t even taken part in an F1 session. He has put himself under a lot of pressure. His performance next season will be judged much more critical.”

Oscar Piastri will race alongside Lando Norris in 2023

After the appointment of Oscar Piastri, the papaya-colored team has got itself a young driver lineup for next year and if everything works out, then the duo can be expected to serve the team for years to come.
Lando Norris, at the moment, is only 22 years old and has already proved his mettle as an F1 driver, however, when it comes to Oscar Piastri, he is still a raw commodity in the pinnacle of motorsports.
What Helmut Marko has said about the young Australian is absolutely on point as the pressure of F1 is on another level compared to any other class of racing, and considering the shenanigans that have already taken place around him, everybody’s keen eyes are going to be on his performances next year.
