Charles Leclerc ahead of the Silverstone Grand Prix has given the exact details of what went on between him and Team Principal Mattia Binotto after the race in Silverstone.

At the end of the chaotic British Grand Prix where Leclerc was only able to manage P4, he was seen conversing with Binotto and the latter pointing his finger at the Monegasque driver.

After that incident, the most common belief flying around the paddock was that Leclerc had gotten a scolding from Binotto for protesting how his race went on.

However, Leclerc has come forward and put all the rumors to bed by saying,‘I have already said it and I understand that it can cause doubt, but he was pissed off. He was angry with me for being so down. He was trying to cheer me up, making everyone wonder why he was pointing his finger at me like that. He was just frustrated to see me so down after such a good race, but on the other hand, he understood my disappointment.”

Leclerc has revealed that he did get a scolding but not for the reasons that everyone assumed around the paddock. Mattia Binotto being the man in charge at Ferrari felt that it was not right for him to stay down after the race as he felt the overall result was very positive for the team.

Charles Leclerc is happy for Carlos Sainz on winning his maiden Formula One Grand Prix but has also indicated that the last few races haven’t gone according to plan for him and wants the team to do a better job going ahead into the season.

Leclerc while stressing about his season so far said, “‘We just need to make sure that this kind of thing happens less often in a whole season. How the last few races have been for me has been very tough. I haven’t been on the podium for five races. But I’m still as motivated as ever and that won’t change.

Even though things have been tough for the 24-year-old recently, he is not willing to bow down to the challenge of hunting down Max Verstappen in the Drivers Championship and feels that after 10 rounds, he is still as motivated as ever to achieve his targets for the season.
