Sebastian Vettel announced yesterday that he will retire from racing at the conclusion of current F1 season, and notable English broadcaster Jeremy Clarkson has now joined the long list of famous people who have responded.

To share the press release video on social media, Sebastian Vettel created an account. The four-time Formula One World Champion started his career with Red Bull and Toro Rosso, where he took home the 2010 and 2013 titles. When Vettel signed with Ferrari in 2015, his competition with now 7-time Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton was widely adored by Formula One aficionados.

The German driver joined the Aston Martin squad at the beginning of the 2021 season, but it hasn’t worked out really well for him. The Grand Tour presenter also contributed to the conversation by tweeting about Vettel’s announcement. He wrote: “Seb was a bright star in F1 but I think he’ll be even brighter when he’s out of it.”

“The decision to retire has been a difficult one for me to take, and I have spent a lot of time thinking about it. At the end of the year I want to take some more time to reflect on what I will focus on next; it is very clear to me that, being a father, I want to spend more time with my family,” said Vettel in the video that he posted announcing his retirement from the motorsport.

“But today is not about saying goodbye. Rather, it is about saying thank you – to everyone – not least to the fans, without whose passionate support Formula 1 could not exist,” concluded the 4-time Formula One World Champion.
