Helmut Marko breaks SILENCE on rumors of Adrian Newey receiving massive contract from Aston Martin

Tensions escalated with rumors about Max Verstappen and Adrian Newey potentially leaving Milton Keynes at the end of the season. . Amidst this, it was reported that Newey was offered a contract by a rival team for the coming season. Now, Helmut Marko has broken his silence over these rumors and cleared the picture.
Adrian Newey was reportedly handed a lucrative contract from Lawrence Stroll to join Aston Martin in the coming season. However, Team Principal Mike Krack dismissed the claims completely. Additionally, Newey had recently reaffirmed his commitment to Milton Keynes.
Helmut Marko claimed that the media should ask Adrian Newey himself if the Aston Martin rumors were true. Additionally, the Red Bull advisor praised the aero genius and highlighted that Newey was a ‘highly sought-after’ technical director. Hence, Marko acknowledged that the 65-year-old would receive many more contracts in the coming season purely due to his race craft.

Apart from this, Marko revealed that losing Newey would be a big disadvantage for Milton Keynes. The Briton shifting teams would mean that he would take all his knowledge to a different team. The 80-year-old mentioned how someone with Newey’s CV comprising of multiple championship-winning designs brought in a lot of knowledge and experience.

As a result, the 65-year-old was more than just the technical chief at Milton Keynes. Newey’s understanding of the ground-effect regulations allowed Red Bull to dominate the past two seasons.
Helmut Marko highlighted that Newey was much more than just a capable engineer. The Briton was a ‘cult figure’ which influenced young engineers to join Red Bull to get a chance to work with the aero genius.. Hence, it was a ‘great advantage’ to have Adrian Newey in Red Bull.

Hence, Milton Keynes could potentially showcase a repeat of the 2023 season in terms of pace and performance.
