Nico Hulkenberg, the Aston Martin reserve driver, has recently talked about the progress that has been made regarding getting the Haas seat for the 2023 F1 season.

However, the experienced German is not the only driver that Haas got on its radar, its current driver, Mick Schumacher is also in the running and the seat can go either way.

While there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding the second seat on the American outfit, Team Principal, Guenther Steiner has also not given anything away, and whenever asked about the seat, he has preferred to shy away from the topic.

However, Hulkenberg has recently talked about the seat and added, “At the end of the day, it’s not my decision. I’m not making it.”

There are still talks. I am relatively optimistic, but we will have to be patient a little longer.

While Nico Hulkenberg has asked his faithful to stay patient regarding his position for next year, the 35-year-old is in a very good position to secure the seat.

Mick Schumacher, in recent races, hasn’t been able to put his VF-22 in points-scoring positions often and this can tempt Guenther Steiner to part ways with the 23-year-old for next season.

However, despite not putting in good performances, Mick is not totally out of the running, as he is very much adored in the F1 paddock and many have vouched for him to stay with Haas at least for 2023.

So far in the campaign, Schumacher has scored only 12 points for the team compared to Magnussen’s 24 and this is something that does not go in his favor.

The struggles of Schumacher in comparison to Magnussen have put serious doubt in the mind of Steiner and considering that Haas is stalling its decision regarding the seat, there is a very chance that the team could announce its 2023 driver line-up close to the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi.
