The 23-year-old wrote,I’m so sad that you’re leaving, but at the same time excited for you and this new chapter of your life. You’ve been and still are such an important person to me and I’m thankful for our friendship.

Mick Schumacher is forever grateful for how Vettel has influenced his F1 career and while on one hand, the young driver is a bit sad about him leaving the sport, on the other, he is also appreciative of his decision and has wished him luck in all his future endeavors.

Mick and Seb have often been seen together during race events and the bond that the duo shares is a special one. This is one of the main reasons why Schumacher has come up with such a lovely message for the former four-time F1 World Champion.

Sebastian Vettel has always been like a father figure to Mick Schumacher

When Sebastian Vettel was new in Formula One, Mick’s father Michael Schumacher made sure that Vettel was happy and was there for him whenever he needed some advice or anything.

The same is the case win Sebastian and Mick. However, the role that Vettel now plays is that of a father rather than a young driver. Vettel who is 35 years old has been through everything in the sport and sees it as his duty to help Mick as much as possible just like Michael helped him.

At the end of races, the duo is often seen asking about each other’s finishing positions over team radio and this is enough to give everyone a slight sense of the kind of bond they share.

With Seb retiring at the end of the season, a vacancy has opened up at the Aston Martin team, and considering the bond between Mick and Sebastian, there are chances that the seat could potentially be offered to Mick Schumacher.

If it happens, it just would be great to see the apprentice taking over the reins from the person who has taught him so much during their time together in the sport.
