“I am super excited,” Nicholas Latifi to receive major upgrades at the French Grand Prix

Nicholas Latifi

Nicholas Latifi debuted in F1 in 2020 at Austria with Williams, and since, he has been their driver, trying to score points at every race, but that hasn’t happened very much with him. In 2020, he didn’t score any points, and in 2021, he scored a total of 7 points, which isn’t a lot, but the most he has done so far. This season as well, he is struggling hard to score any points, but he is not to be completely blamed for this, Williams, which was once a championship winning team, hasn’t won a single race in over a decade, which makes it difficult to compete with the race winning cars.

With the new regulations, all the cars were supposed to be more competitive and the sport was supposed to be more ‘equal’ for all of the teams, but that did not happen for Latifi and Williams. Although they have scored 3 points until now, all of them are because of Alex Albon, and Latifi sits at the bottom of the table, and so does the team. It became even more difficult for them after all of the teams brought in upgrade packages, but Latifi did not have it.

But now, going closer to the French Grand Prix, it has just been announced that Latifi will not receive a major upgrade in his car.

After this upgrade, Latifi’s car would match his teammate’s car, and he would have better chances at scoring in some team for the points. Although it would probably still keep them way beyond Aston Martin, they still have to start somewhere. “Having introduced some new parts to Alex’s car over the last couple of races, we are now in a position where both cars can run with the upgrades,”  GPBlog quoted.

Latifi stated that he is excited to try out the car in France as he and the team has seen many positive feedbacks from Alex’s car, who had the upgrades earlier than Latifi.
