“I dislike doing them,” Martin Brundle breaks his silence over the disastrous grid walk in Miami

Martin Brundle is known as one of the voices of F1, as for years, he has been a part of the commentary team of one of the largest broadcasters. His most notable act is the grid walk before the race, where he interviews the people, especially the drivers and the bosses, in the paddock.
But things became awkward for Martin in his last visits to the United States. Last time, when he was stopped by rapper Megan Thee Stallion’s bodyguard, the commentator held his composure then but lashed back later. However, this time in Miami, things were different.
The entire lane was filled with A-list celebrities, out of which he failed to recognise plenty. And as he struggled to find a familiar face, cringe came flying again and again. The clips of various failed celebrity interactions went viral, and Brundle has now chosen to speak up.
In a tweet from his handle, he tweeted: There’s a reason why I’ve never watched back an F1 gridwalk in a quarter of a century of doing them. You have no idea how much I dislike doing them but somehow those crazy moments have defined my professional career. Oh well, that’s the way it is.
Who all did Martin Brundle interact with at the Miami GP?
The grid walk was difficult for Brundle. With a plethora of celebrities present for the inaugural Miami GP, he was bound to miss plenty, and so he did.
Fans reported he missed football superstars Neymar and Kaka. And while he did interact with David Beckham, who also joined McLaren and Red Bull in their garages, the response was a blank, which the F1 fans didn’t appreciate.
Martin also interacted with musician Pharrell Williams and DJ Khaled. Khaled’s clip of 26 seconds, hyping up the race made for a good cringe induced chuckle for the fans.
