“I don’t know what they were doing,” Sergio Perez agitated with the official’s unclear instructions

Sergio Perez
Sergio Perez finished P4 in the French Grand Prix after almost getting into the third spot on the podium. Sergio lost the battle with George Russell for the last podium spot after the VSC ended. Perez blamed it on the unclear instructions given by the officials that took his chances to score 3 points more than he received. There were moments in between the fights Russell and Perez had that also were not looked into as the Mexican expected.
Perez and George fought their ways till the finishing line but there are instances when the rivals took charge wheel on wheel. Perez also mentioned Russell leaving the track quite some time in the hope of some action. The 32-year-old didn’t really look comfortable with the package throughout the weekend and was struggling with pace in France as well. Russell already mentioned his pace equalling Perez’s pace and was confident to catch him for the podium spot. After Zhou brought the VSC, things got a bit interesting for the drivers too close to each other. Perez was apparently not active as the VSC ended and found George sweeping him away. However, Perez blamed it on the officials as the unclear ending was called at two spots on the track.
“It was reported that we would stop at Turn 9 [with the virtual safety car], so I went for it there, but in the end the track wasn’t released until Turn 13, so I don’t know exactly what they were doing,” said Perez.

Sergio Perez had a heated fight with George with the Mercedes Driver winning in the end. The battle got a bit heated with a few incidents in between.
“It was a good battle apart from turn 8, we were fighting for the corner and we [almost] ruined our races. Other than that, it was a good battle and a good race from George. I just got struggle with the virtual safety car. It said it would end at turn 9 so I went for it, but it was turn 13 so I don’t know what they were doing with it,” explained Sergio Perez.
Sergio is now 7 points behind Charles Leclerc after the Ferrari had a DNF after his mistake in France. Sergio is 70 points behind the championship lead with slim chances for him to have a fight for the title.
