“I just don’t feel that my car is capable” Nicholas Latifi believes his FW44 is inferior in terms of performance as compared to Alex Albon’s car

Williams drivers Nicholas Latifi and Alex Albon

Nicholas Latifi, the 26-year-old driver, is currently on road with Williams but is on the verge to exit the sport after continuously underperforming. Latifi has been outscored by his teammate in all the races this season but one. Latifi is in trouble as he has dark clouds over his career this season, with similar cars he has been totally dominated by Alex Albon.

But Latifi thinks the car isn’t the same as it is for Alex, but the latter has out-qualified the Canadian in his first after his return to F1. Alex has been on points twice this season in the same P10 car of the championship. Nicholas talked about his confidence being affected by his teammate’s performance.

“For me, looking far beyond that and past any of the confidence limitations that I feel I was having in the beginning, the pace would just not be there. There are situations where I just don’t feel that my car is capable of doing what I see he’s doing on the data, which is not a nice feeling to be in,” Latifi said.

Next round 10 of the championship 2022 is in Silverstone, with a hope to “restart” Nicholas is stepping into the weekend with a lot of positives. Latifi hopes to get into points this weekend and will work to find the pace with his engineer,

“We have to use this two-week break to understand why and see if we can find anything. For me, it has to be something quite fundamental. There’s no situation or condition on-track, even when people aren’t pushing flat out and I feel that I am that the pace is there to our competitors. So we’ll see. Try and reset going into Silverstone, and go from there.” Nicholas said.

Nicholas Latifi is P21 in the champion and the only driver to not have scored points this season other than the Haas’ Mick Schumacher and third driver Nico Hulkenberg.
