“I live in the present,” Nyck de Vries unperturbed with rumors of him replacing Nicholas Latifi next season

Nyck de Vries and Nicholas Latifi

Nicholas Latifi is one of the two current drivers on the grid to have failed to register a point this season. Jost Capito was brought in by Williams to steady the ship and he was somewhat able to do that last year, with the resources available to him. That was mainly due to the brilliance of George Russell. who has now moved to Mercedes this year. Nicholas Latifi’s form was a concern last year too, as he registered only 7 points.

We all know that F1 is an expensive business to be in and a higher finish in the constructor’s championship means that you would get more financial rewards than your competitors. Last year, Williams finished 8th which should be considered as huge progress after the two disastrous seasons that they had. But, it feels like that we are back to square one.

While Alex Albon has shown glimpses of what he can do, Nicholas Laftifi has given headaches to Williams with his substandard performances. We all know that Nicholas Latifi’s father, Michael Latifi, sponsors the team, which makes it tougher for Williams to get rid of him. But if he continues with the kind of form he has shown this season, the team might have to look for other options.

We are currently in Jakarta and we still have eight races to go to make sure the championship comes our way,” as reported by gpblog.

The pressure is on for Nicholas Latifi and therefore there is an urgent need for him to up his game if wants to continue living this dream of driving in F1.

Williams is the second most successful team in the history of F1 and wants to do everything to roll back the days. For them to be able to do that, both drivers need to fire on all cylinders. Hence, the clock is ticking for Nicholas Latifi if he doesn’t want to lose his seat to Nyck de Vries.
