“I think it was well handled,” Andreas Seidl supports FIA’s decision making at the rain interrupted Monaco GP

Andreas Seidl, the team principal of the McLaren F1 team, lately has agreed with the race controls’ decision to get the race started ahead of time. Monaco Grand Prix, as predicted before, suffered heavy rain at the start of it. To which the head called for a delayed start letting the team change their tyres choices to wet tyres, that halt got itself added with a power cut and stored water on the street which made it more difficult for the officials to announce a starter.

After an hour of extra time, the race finally started behind the safety car, it was a rolling start due to a 50-50 track distribution of wet and dry which would have given a few drivers extra advantage, and we underwent racing with a thought to complete all the lap. However, that idea got slammed with the crashing Haas of Mick Schumacher, the race ultimately went for 68 laps.

The decision by the officials was later criticised by a lot of people, but the Geman did agree with it. “I would say in the end it was the right thing to do, what the race director decided,” reported planetf1.

Wet races are the most interesting races and all the fans following the sport will agree with that, but it isn’t the best for the emptying money bags teams carry throughout the season. One major regulation added to the 2022 season is the Budget cap teams will have to work under this season.

Monaco is already known for the steep and closed walls around the whole circuit, the rain would aid an extra hand in getting bags lighter. Agreed Andreas Seidl “from a team perspective, to be honest as well, knowing how low we all are on parts this year under a cost cap, one of the positives of the race day was that both cars were still in one piece.” reported the Boss.

The race ended with Lando on P6 which was a fantastic result for the orange team, but Daniel Ricciardo stilled failed to finish on points. The team is currently on P4 with 59 points in their bags.
