The German prodigy, Mick Schumacher, didn’t get off to the best of starts to his F1 career as he failed to secure even a single point in his first season. This had raised speculations around his future in the sport but he was able to hold on to his place while Nikita Mazepin was shown the door. Despite staying part of the team at Haas, the pressure was building on him to get the scoreboard ticking.

There were signs of progress but nothing substantial to show for it. He came close during the Miami GP but a collision with his dear friend, Sebastian Vettel, meant that he was out of the contention for his first ever points finish. But, Mick didn’t lose hope and kept his head down. Everything fell into place at Silverstone where he finished P8 after a epic battle with reigning world champion, Max Verstappen.

This performance at the British GP was followed up by a brilliant drive at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. The German outperformed to finish above his team mate, Kevin Magnussen, to finish P6. This has been a breakthrough season for him in terms of securing the results. But, his eyes are set on bigger things and he admitted to that in a recent interview.

Talking about his ambition as a F1 driver, Mick Schumacher pointed out the things he wants to achieve in F1. Speaking to Crash, he said, “Yeah I think I’ve shown that I’m able to come back from a tough situation. I think it’s interesting how quickly things change. I’ve proven in my junior days and I feel like I’ve proven myself in F1 as well.

“I think the ultimate dream for everybody in F1 is to drive for such an iconic brand at some point.”

“Again, I can’t go into any more details than that as it’s contractual, and we are never allowed to speak about any contractual-related stuff to the media.”

Mick Schumacher recently decided to end his association with Ferrari but still hopes to be able to drive for an iconic brand like Mercedes or Ferrari in the future. Do you think it’s the right time for him to take the plunge or he should wait for his moment?
