“I will miss the adrenaline,” Sebastian Vettel undeterred about retirement decision despite a nail biting battle with Kevin Magnussen

Sebastian Vettel is coming to the end of a very glorious career with just three races to go. The German has been racing with all feelings considering it is his final season and he has done brilliantly well throughout the season. The recent United States Grand Prix stays one of them after a mind-blowing finish at P8, despite a disastrous pit stop.

Vettel started his race off in a very good position, fighting his teammate while Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez made their way from the back of the grid. Aston Martin showed much better pace throughout the weekend, going with their trend of improving performances. That motivated the drivers to get along with the top drivers while they struggled the rest of the season. At one point, he was even leading the race.

Sebastian Vettel had a fight with Kevin Magnussen for P8 and the nail biting fight till the finish line: “I did think long and hard about making the decision and I also thought about these moments that I will miss the adrenaline and so on. Obviously, parts of me will miss those a lot; other parts are looking forward to what’s coming,” said Vettel.

Aston Martin was entrusted by Sebastian Vettel to provide them with a wider opportunity team. Aston Martin was the he second-worst car by far in the early parts of the season, but they have improved and are now seventh in the championship table, just 1 point behind Alfa Romeo. A lot of the credit for this goes to Vettel.

“It was a total surprise to be faster than McLaren and Alpine. I mean, we’ve looked after the tyres well, but I don’t think that’s the main factor.”

“Unfortunately, we didn’t have the pace down the straights to just pass comfortably, so I had to try something unusual. I definitely had some fun and I had tight battles, especially with Kevin at the end,” explained Vettel according to motorsport.

Vettel is seventh in the championship with 38* points to his name. This is a great return compared with how Aston Martin started this season. In fact, he is above Daniel Ricciardo in the standings, whose team is currently competing for P4.
