The Alpine Formula One team has been in absolute shambles off late and Otmar Szafnauer during the Friday Practice sessions of Belgian GP has blasted the team’s reserve driver Oscar Piastri by indicating that he expected to bit of integrity from the Australian.
Alpine has been in the news ever since the start of the summer break as first it was Fernando Alonso who made the headlines and after him, it was the young Oscar Piastri whose actions surprised not only Alpine but the whole F1 paddock.
Formula One has returned to the TV screens of fans after a hiatus of almost a month and considering how the driver situation on the Enstone-based team escalated during the summer break, it was obvious that the team was going to get bombarded with questions around its reserve driver.
Otmar Szafnauer was on the Pit wall having a chat with the F1 commentators when they brought up Alpine’s Piastri problem and, the 58-year-old did not hold back in any way in making his feeling known on the situation.

Otmar Szafnauer has got one seat to fill on the French team for 2023
The 2023 grid has started taking shape and at this point, there are only a few vacant seats left among the 10 teams. Moreover, the most prestigious of them all is the seat on the French team that is fighting with McLaren for the fourth position in the Constructors Championship this season.
With Fernando Alonso leaving a void on the team for 2023, certain drivers could be of interest to the French team. One of those drivers is former Red Bull starlet, Daniel Ricciardo who has recently confirmed that he is leaving the papaya-colored team at the end of the year.
The Driver market is hotting up very nicely and, with Oscar Piastri almost a certainty to leave Alpine at the end of 2022, all eyes are going to be on the French outfit to sort out its driver situation as soon as possible.
Can you see Daniel Ricciardo driving for Alpine during the 2023 season of F1? If not, who would you recommend to take the second seat alongside Esteban Ocon for next year?
