“I’ll be a sheep farmer,” Christian Horner discusses retirement prospects and plans after Formula 1

Christian Horner

Christian Horner, Team Principal of Red Bull opened up on his retirement plans after exiting from the sport. Horner has had an amazing career starting his work with the Bulls in 2005. He later went on to win back-to-back championships from 2010-2013 and is about to get his hands on the 2022 trophy as well. With soon-to-be 5 Constructor’s championships under his name, Horner could take ease now.

However, being as hungry as he could Horner was modest enough to disagree with any of his plans to discontinue the sport right now. He surely wants to continue and get more and more of all the pleasure of winning things in the sport as he said, he had just started. Horner, anyhow, understands that he will have to stop and will get time to reflect back on his career.

Horner on when it is enough to take retirement, “It doesn’t feel like it’s enough at the moment and I think that drives – some people are happy to cruise, others want to keep pushing and I feel like I’ve only just got going. This championship, the chapter will close and we’ll enjoy it for a couple of evenings, then it’s all about the next one. So, you never get time to reflect,” explained Horner, as per GPFans.

Horner understands the sport and the rush it goes on with. Reflecting back on one’s career isn’t really possible while you continue on in the sport. You can only do that after. For now, there is only one possibility – of moving ahead with the sport. Horner explains his career, adding that he might become a sheep farmer.

“This championship, the chapter will close and we’ll enjoy it for a couple of evenings, then it’s all about the next one. So, you never get time to reflect. I think it’s only when you get to the end of the journey that then you get time to reflect,” said Horner.

The Red Bull team principal concluded by saying: “When I get to the end of my journey, I’ll go away and do something completely different – I’ll be a sheep farmer or something like that. But I don’t see that in sight at the moment.”

Red Bull could go on and win their fifth constructor championship in Austin just by scoring 25 points leaving Ferrari with no scope to hold them. This is surely their most successful year ever, even if no one would have expected their domination to be so intense at the start of the season.
