It was certainly a weekend to remember for Sebastian Vettel and his fans. The German driver got into Q3 for the first time since Azerbaijan, out-qualifying Lando Norris in the process. In the race, a quick strategic decision with the intermediate tyres helped him get an even better result.
He and Fernando Alonso were tussling right up to the line on the last lap, but Vettel prevailed, finishing P6, his best result of the season. This result also means he’s now ahead of Daniel Ricciardo in the championship. People are undoubtedly happy that the Aston Martin driver had a great ‘last’ race in Suzuka.
Vettel loves the Suzuka circuit, and recently, even went as far as suggesting that it must have been designed by god(s). He definitely has a connection to the place, having won 5 times there, and taking a stunning pole position last time Formula 1 visited the track. This may be his final race at the track, even if he has stated ‘never say never’ and fans bid him farewell in style.
Fans about the Sebastian Vettel video: “Are you going to make us cry?”
Aston Martin F1 recently uploaded a video of Sebastian Vettel on Twitter. It showed him waving to the crowd, who were holding neon green glow sticks. It is an amazing sight and just a reminder to Vettel that he will be sorely missed on the grid. It also shows the love of the Japanese fans towards him.
Vettel’s fans and admirers came out in spades to express their love for him, with the sight making some of them emotional. There will be many tears shed after Abu Dhabi, but this video also comes close in that regard for a lot of fans.
Some have taken to the denial coping mechanism. It’s hard to imagine the grid without the German on it, but the show must go on.
After good points scored in the last two races, Aston Martin are only 7 points behind Alfa Romeo. P6 in the championship is still a very real possibility for them, even though at one point it looked as if the Swiss team were unlikely to be challenged there. For the final few races, Sebastian Vettel’s attention will turn to help his team take P6 in the Constructor’s championship.
