“It hasn’t been smooth,” Charles Leclerc claims robbery investigation not going as ‘smooth’ as expected
On Easter Monday, Charles Leclerc was robbed. A $320,000 special edition Richard Mille watch was stolen from his wrist while posing with fans in the Italian city of Viareggio. Around 10 PM, the Ferrari driver was out with his trainer in Italy.
Around that moment, the gang of robbers requested a souvenir photograph from the Monegasque driver. When the request was made, the driver was present in the vehicle. One of the guys present in the group snatched the Richard Mille from Leclerc’s hand as the driver stepped out of his car.
After the incident, Leclerc filed a complaint with the local police. The driver is reported to be fine and unharmed during the robbery. Investigation for the identification of the robber is underway as the security cameras are being searched. But according to him, the operations are not going as smooth as expected.

Charles Leclerc said the police have undertaken the operations to find out the criminals. According to the Monagesque, the investigation is in process but not going as smooth as expected. But they won’t get away in the Ferrari driver’s way as he is focused on the race this weekend.
Leclerc said, “I won’t go too much into details, it hasn’t been a great experience. I cannot say much more than that. But obviously, everything is going on with the police, and they are trying to find them. It hasn’t been as smooth as what I’ve read. But yeah, overall, I am fine and fully focused on the weekend. It won’t hurt me for this weekend.”
Ferrari is on course to cement their lead on the championship as Leclerc claims their and his second win of the 2022 season. And the Scuderia, comfortably sit on top of the Constructor’s championship with a 49 point lead on Mercedes in second place. Leclerc leads the drivers’ championship by 34 points which is more than anyone did during any point in the 2021 season. And the Italian team will be looking to increase their advantage with another strong performance in Imola for the Emilia Romagna GP on April 22-24.
